Does Explora Journeys charge a single supplement for solo travellers?

Normally yes, but it is lower than most luxury lines and Explora runs a programme called A Journey of One that reduces the single supplement to 0% on a selected set of journeys, with dates extending into 2028. The eligible list is capacity-controlled and changes as suites sell, so the practical question is which journeys carry it today.

Which Explora journeys have a 0% solo supplement?

It varies constantly. Explora publishes a list of eligible journeys and suite categories under A Journey of One, then adds and withdraws sailings as inventory moves. Rather than chase a list that will be out of date next week, tell us your preferred region and timeframe and we check what is eligible right now.

Is Explora Journeys good for solo travellers?

It suits independent solo travellers well. There is no fixed dining seating and no assigned tables, so you never face a nightly table of strangers or an empty one; roughly 900 guests makes the ship easy to navigate alone; and every accommodation is a suite with a private terrace, so time alone is genuinely pleasant. There is no dedicated solo lounge or hosted singles programme.

Are there dedicated single suites on Explora ships?

No. Explora has no studio or single-occupancy cabin category — solo guests book a standard suite for sole use, which is why the supplement exists. The upside is that a solo guest gets the same 377+ sq ft terrace suite a couple would, rather than a smaller solo-specific room.

What is Explora Club, and can I match my status from another cruise line?

Explora Club is the loyalty programme. Its Status Match is a one-time transfer that recognises elite status held with a qualifying premium or luxury line at an equivalent Explora Club tier, without sailing with Explora first. The programme now covers 13 partner brands, most recently adding Celebrity Cruises and Princess Cruises.

Does Explora sail the Mediterranean in winter?

Yes. EXPLORA II sails a winter Mediterranean season from November 2026 through March 2027, marketed as A Serene Mediterranean. It includes shorter 4- to 9-night journeys and routes reaching the Atlantic coasts of Portugal and Morocco — the same region with far fewer crowds and a slower pace than peak summer.
